A leading topic of international debate is humanity's impact on the natural world. What are the economic and political consequences of climate change? What problems do urban, agriculture and natural habitats face? What are the lingering threats to human health? SJIU's BA in Environmental Studies explores the interactions of humans with the physical environment in a highly interdisciplinary academic program. Our goal is to prepare tomorrow's leaders for the responsible stewardship of our environment.

Career Options:

The demand for professionals who understand how the environment works and who possess the knowledge to problem solve is increasing as the global economy continues to 'go green'. SJIU's BA in Environmental Studies prepares students for a number of careers in the areas of public policy, business, economics, law, energy systems, parks and recreation, and environmental advocacy. This major is also excellent preparation for graduate studies in science, law, education, or the health professions.
