The Southview was originally built in 1845 for Thomas Swainson, a local businessman, but over the last 10 years it has been extended and modernised to provide 10 quality ensuite bedrooms, a heated Indoor Swimming Pool.

The Southview offers guests comfortable surroundings with a well stocked Residents Bar Lounge offering a selection of Beers, Wines, Spirits and soft drinks in an informal and relaxed atmosphere.

The Breakfast Room includes a conservatory area with tables enjoying the morning sun. Choices include: Fruit Juices, Cereals, etc. Followed by choice Full English Breakfast with an emphasis on local produce.

The Southview is one of a few private guesthouses that has its own Indoor Heated Swimming Pool which opens up onto our South Facing patio. The Pool is heated to 82 degrees in the winter and provides a welcome escape come hail or shine!

Importantly the pool along with the rest of the property is only available to residents at Southview, so there is no need to queue or drive for a dip!

Southviews' south facing patio is the perfect spot for relaxing with a drink and friends old or new!

We want all of our guests to be relaxed and to enjoy their stay with us; regrettably we do not have the facilities to cater for children under 6 years old to keep them entertained. We also do not accept pets of any kind (except Guide Dogs). Please note that all accommodation at Southview is accessed by Stairs only, we do not have any lifts or escalators.

Location

BY CAR ,If you find your way to the M6, the most direct route here is from junction 36. From there, pick up the A590 (signposted for Kendal) which then turns into the A591. This will bring you into Windermere where you need to turn left at the junction, sign posted for Windermere town centre. It is a big junction with a Natwest bank on one corner, and the train station and Tourist info on the other.

Cross Street is then a quick second on the left. If it helps you, there is a Chinese restaurant called 'Golden Mountain' on the corner of Cross Street. If you miss the turn, you will be into the one-way system and then your IQ is put to test to see if you can find us again!
Cross Street is a cul de sac and you will find us right at the end, tucked in on the left.
BY TRAIN, come out of the railway station and proceed towards the town centre, keeping left. Cross street is 2nd left, proceed to the end of this road and Southview is on the left side
