  • Description

The Spanish school in Lima is located in one of the liveliest and safest areas of Lima and is only a few minutes away from the Pacific coast. You will be very close to beautiful parks, shopping centers, bars and restaurants which will provide you with the perfect opportunity to apply your newly acquired Spanish skills. Through highly developed language programs students will improve their Spanish in a short period of time and will successfully finish the course after a couple of weeks. The language school in Lima can definitely be proud on its excellent reputation. The 3 story school building has 8 classrooms, Wi-fi, a small library, a nice backyard with barbeque area, common areas.

All teachers are native speakers, have university degrees, and have prior experience teaching languages to foreigners. In addition to their professional credentials, they are selected for their ability to make the curriculum interesting and accessible to students. Learning Spanish shall not only be tough work but also be fun to our students.

We believe that our students not only come to Lima to learn Spanish, but to be part of an exciting experience abroad. In line with this belief, our dynamic and helpful staff treats each student uniquely with very personalized services.

The Spanish lessons in Lima are of high quality. All teachers have a university degree and great deal of experience in teaching Spanish to foreigners. The lessons are divided into twelve different Spanish levels (respectively four different beginners, intermediate and advanced levels) to ensure similar language skills in each class. On the first day of class, a placement test will determine your Spanish skills and you will then be assigned to the class that best meets your requirements.

During class three different topics will be focused: Studying new grammar, conversation training and deepening the language through exercises. You can book either group, intensive or private courses. All courses are available for any Spanish level. Classes take place from Monday to Friday and start always on Mondays. Each class lasts 50 minutes.

    * Group Course: The group course consists of 20 lessons per week, that means 3 Spanish lessons each day. There is a maximum of six students per class to ensure individual help and a fast learning progress.

    * Intensive Course: The intensive course is made up of the mentioned group courses in the morning and four additional private classes per week in the afternoon. On the one hand, students can broaden their knowledge obtained in the group course and on the other hand they can eliminate personal weaknesses or repeat complex learning contents.

    * Private Course: The private course consists of 20 lessons weekly. It allows personal and focused orientation by a private teacher as well as an individualized learning pace. The weekly schedule can be reduced to 10 hours or increased to 30 hours. Extra lessons can be booked flexibly according to your needs.

Keep in mind that the Spanish school in Lima offers free tutorial to help students work on their weaknesses and to repeat important language aspects. Every day a teacher is available to assist students in specific topics they need extra attention, reading suggestions, questions related to homework, etc. This is an extra value service, not comparable to private instruction but definitely beneficial to provide all the students maximum support.

Non-academic activities: Spending some time abroad is not only about learning another language but also about getting to know the culture, the people and the way of life of the country you stay in. Throughout the week you can walk around the different neighborhoods in Lima, visit a wide variety of museums and cultural highlights, and enjoy the Latin nightlife, beautiful beaches, landscapes and good food and drinks. During the weekends you can go north or south and find different options to discover the country and its places of interest. To the north you can do some trekking, discover lakes and other marvelous natural beauties (i.g. Chancay and Chimu cultures). To the northeast, you can enjoy hot springs and spectacular Andean landscapes. To the south, in Canete y Lunahuna, you can practice different adventure sports such as canoeing, mountain biking, paragliding and trekking, as well as a variety of beaches, some of them are ideal surfing spots. You shouldn't miss Cusco and Machu Picchu either. Cuzco is the historical heart of the Inca culture and Machu Picchu Historic Sanctuary, also known as the "lost city of the Incas" is by far the most well known and spectacular archaeological site on the continent.

  • Highlights

    Housing:

To make your stay as unforgettable as possible we also want you to enjoy your stay outside of the classroom. You can book accommodation in one of our carefully chosen host families or shared apartments. We recommend you to take advantage of the homestay to practice Spanish and be exposed to local culture. Do not assume that you are too old for a home stay as many of our students are older than their host "parents". For many of our students, their home stay is one of the most rewarding experiences while studying abroad.

If you prefer to live in a shared apartment with other students or local young professionals, we will arrange this for you as well. Keep in mind that no meal plan is available with the shared apartments; however you have kitchen access to prepare your own meals. The student apartment is the best choice for those who want to combine the Spanish experience with meeting new friends. All apartments are fully furnished and equipped.

    Volunteering:

Social commitment is in great demand! In Peru the social differences are still very big. There is a huge gap between rich and poor people. Many families live in poverty and are dependant on external help. Sick and handicapped children are often repudiated, do not have a home and as a consequence have to stay at hospitals or children's homes. Many old people live in nursing homes or on the streets. Many sick people do not have the money to pay for the necessary surgery or medical treatment.

Additionally to our Spanish courses in Lima we provide volunteer work positions.

You can either combine your Spanish course with the volunteer work and do half-day volunteering or you schedule the volunteer experience after the Spanish course is completed.

Volunteering, alongside with helping people in need, allows you to practice your Spanish in real life situations and you can train your newly acquired skills.

In co-operation with different social institutions and non-profit organizations we offer various voluntary work projects in Lima. You will meet people in special situations who will be very thankful for your help, and will also enjoy your company and learning about your home country.

This learning and cultural experience will be unforgettable.
