  • Description

Resting in one of the poorest countries in the world is the amazing land Ecuador, home to over 3 million Indigenous residents of the Shuar and Kichwa communities. Here in this Amazonian Rainforest village exist rich traditions and close connections to Indigenous culture.

High percentages of the youth in these communities have limited to no access to a formal education. Trends have been forming, where there is little education, there is often entanglement with drugs and violence. The focus of this school lies on educating the youth in order to provide well-rounded knowledge, keep the youth safe from street entanglement and chiefly, offer possibilities of a higher quality of life.

Besides education, the foundation also cares for social and family issues the Shuar are faced with. Amongst those are poverty, child abandonment and neglect, prostitution, delinquency, violence and drugs.

All of the program's social programs parallel with cultural sensitivity and awareness.

If you are interested in learning first-hand Indigenous ways of life, while also believing education should be available for all, then welcome abroad to this teaching program!
