  • Description

The school Parola has arranged an Italian pronunciation course for students in Florence, so to provide the language means to deal with a very difficult task for a non-mother tongue speaker: pronouncing Italian language properly and proficiently. This dedicated course is particularly recommended to those students who study opera music in Italy and to all students who belong to Study Abroad Exchange Programs in Tuscany. Particularly, Erasmus students who are studying for some exams at the University of Florence may find it useful to improve their pronunciation through elements such as rhythm, prosody, sound length of consonants and vowels, Italian expressions and their sounds.

  • Highlights

This course consists of two weeks in which we teach the phonetic rules of Italian pronunciation and we do exercises with the voice: recording and repeating the words and the expressions. At the same time, the Italian pronunciation teacher might also fill out some grammar gaps that the student might encounter while learning Italian.

At the end of an Italian pronunciation course, students have learned rhythm, tone and intonation of Italian. They have learned how to model Italian expressions in a specific context as well.

This is a dedicated Italian language course, it is usually taken on Monday, Tuesday and Thursday in the afternoon, from 3:00 pm to 4:00 pm (Total 6 hours):

    * A school teacher converse with the student about various topics and corrects the pronunciation
    * We cover all the open vowels and closed vowels of Italian
    * The pronunciation course has readings of special texts for pronunciation by Corrado Veneziano
    * The pronunciation course has readings of special texts for pronunciation by Marco Svolacchia
    * Practice of open vowels and close vowels, of mute consonants and sounding consonants
    * A school teacher covers the rhythm and the accent of dialogues by listening to tapes
    * We use CD to hear and repeat song lyrics
    * We show some movies to detect some Italian dialects
    * We repeatedly record the pronunciation of the student in order to correct it
