The Three-year Study Plan in Creative Design by Scuola Italiana Design was born out of the request by local companies for professionals who are specialized in product design.
The Plan provides strong vocational training thanks to its cutting-edge, modern and international structure. It aims to help students acquire expressive abilities, creative and design skills, knowledge and capabilities, all of which are essential for a rapid entry into the working world.
During the three years each student deals with the four specific areas of creative design: product, visual, packaging and web design.
In the first two years (Two-year Course in Creative Design) students acquire basic cultural education in the research method, the creative method, the design method and the use of expressive languages, both manual and computerized, related to the profession.
In the third year (One-year Master in Creative Design) the class group turns into a real professional studio in which the students, assisted by four instructors, develop their knowledge and skills with projects on themes directly assigned by six different client companies.
"In 1999 I went in Padua to inquire about SID because I was uncertain to enrol. When I got to the school my doubts immediately disappear when I saw the students painting and sandpapering their prototypes outdoors and dirtying a bit everywhere during a modeling lesson. I thought: "If nobody says anything about, this is the right way to work and this is the right place to let our own fantasy out" and I enrolled."
(Stefano Traverso, graduated at SID in 2001)
Scuola Italiana Design graduates are specialized in creative product design; however the skills they acquire enable them to work in the fields of graphics and web design due to a solid, mature cultural and professional background.
They can be hired in design offices of companies, professional design studios, or become freelance creative designers.
At the end of the Master and upon the successful completion of the final exam, students receive:
