SAGE's Volunteer Program is ideal for students who have graduated early or are deferring their college admission. This program can be customized to suit your time frame and interests. It offers great flexibility with year round enrollment possibilities. Students can choose where, when and how long they wish to volunteer for.

Our volunteer program offers meaningful service opportunities in three geographically and culturally distinct regions: rural communities in the Himalayan mountains in North India's Himachal Pradesh; the coastal communities of Goa, south of Mumbai; and in villages in the colorful western desert state of Rajasthan. We offer a 12 week program that immerses you into each cultural setting for 4 weeks.

The program focuses on volunteer opportunities which vary in each region. Volunteers teach English, computer literacy, support women's empowerment, health & nutrition, provide day care, work with mentally and physically challenged children, coach sports, assist HIV/AIDS patients, work with the elderly and support animal welfare.

When not providing service, volunteers have time for travel and personal relaxation. You can enjoy a camel safari, trekking in the mountains, river rafting, relaxing at the beach and touring major historical sights. Indian cooking lessons and yoga are also available.

This program is intended for youth ages 17 and above. Participants come from around the world and share living quarters with other international volunteers. All meals and transportation to the work site are provided. Volunteer instruction, materials and orientation are provided at each location so no prior experience is necessary.
