Spend your days contributing to community service projects and your nights getting to know the vibrant local culture. Sharpen your bargaining skills in lively markets as you hunt for the perfect souvenir in the city of Jaipur, famous for its artisan goods. Marvel at the beautiful work of local artists and watch as they create their traditional handicrafts. And check out a traditional puppet show - you will even have a chance to practice with the puppets yourself!

Time with the Orphans
The heart of this program is in the time you will share with the children at an orphanage on the outskirts of Jaipur. The kids here range in age from infants to teenagers, and all of them were once street children who were given a second chance by this loving home. The mission of the orphanage is to provide everything for these children - food, clothing, an education, and a family that shows them love. You will be welcomed as a part of this family as you care for the newborn infants, play with the youngsters, and help the older children improve their reading skills and conversational English. The excited kids here will be eager to teach you about their lives and their culture, so get ready to learn a few Hindi words, practice Rajasthani dancing, and play village games. Your service here will have a great impact on the lives of these deserving kids, and you are sure to leave this program with a deep sense of accomplishment and a better understanding of the world around you.

A Cultural Immersion
This program is the perfect introduction to Indian life and culture for students of all ages. You will empower Indian youth, learn about the many facets of life in the beautiful region of Rajasthan, and develop a global perspective on your world. In the evenings you can go for a swim under the stars at the hotel pool, hang out with your new friends, and reflect on your days with the kids. You'll also be treated to a nightly feast of delicious foods, including traditional Rajasthani dishes and a few Western-style favorites.

Qualifications

Students must be 14-years old and up to participate on the program. Additionally, participants must submit an application through the Rustic Pathways website and complete the appropriate documents before traveling on the program.
