Make Friends and Ramp Up Your Spanish!

This is an excellent one-week introduction to Spanish and a great course for students traveling on other Rustic Pathways programs in the Spanish-speaking world. The balance of daily Spanish classes, real-life conversations, and exciting cross-cultural adventures is the perfect combination of learning and fun. Classes are taught in small groups by native Spanish speakers, and the curriculum includes four hours of formal classes that focus heavily on Spanish conversational skills each week day. In addition to formal lessons, you will live with a friendly family from Turrialba for an unforgettable home stay experience. You'll be able to practice what you've learned each day over dinner with your host family. This carefully organized arrangement will enhance both your Spanish skills and the cultural immersion aspects of your trip.

Culture and Adventure
When not in the classroom or spending time with your home stay family, you will go on exciting excursions and adventures in the area. You may visit the botanical gardens, take an educational tour of a serpentarium, check out a coffee plantation, hike to the Aquiares Waterfall, or hang out at the local pool. You can also take advantage of an optional rappelling and zip lining trip through Turrialba's beautiful canyons.
