Description

As our main dive instructor your role will include managing the dive base and 1 dive apprentice, selling diving and other dive base activities, leading both dive and snorkelling trips as well as maintaining and collecting the dive centre bills. It is also the responsibility of the Dive Centre team to keep the dive base and all equipment clean and to service equipment when necessary.

We are looking for someone who is also willing to help around the resort as and when needed.. It is very, very important that our staff can work as a team, have good work ethics and aren't afraid of getting their hands dirty. We also need to ensure that any foreign staff we have, are open minded and willing to accept and adopt some of the local traditions and customs.

Highlights

We (Hi-Tide Divers) are located at Rimba Resort on Pulau Sibu Besar in the state of Johor (borders with Singapore) Peninsula Malaysia. Each year we employ seasonal staff to work our Dive Centre. The dive season is 1st March to 30th November, ultimately we are looking for staff that would plan to stay for the whole season. We are after people who will have an appreciation for what we are offering, that is; a great opportunity to live, work, travel in Asia and experience life on an unspoilt tropical island in the middle of the South China Sea! It's a different culture, way of life, languages, food, landscape, climate and you get to meet loads and loads of new people from all over the world!

The package that we are offering includes:

* Free jetty/boat transfers and, van transfers from the jetty to the city

Also, every 90 days, foreign staff Visa's must be renewed, this requires the person to leave Malaysia and then re-enter, so it's means a trip to another country for a few nights (e.g. Singapore, Thailand, Indonesia) We will pay for your flights in and out of Malaysia for this... so in short, you get a free trip to another country for holidays every 3 months!

Please remember that the Malaysian currency (as all Asian currencies) is not as strong as Sterling, USD, AUD etc, but this relevant to the cost of living here, it is much less than other places and we will pay the standard salary rate for this industry in Malaysia. We will provide you with a safe & clean environment at the resort and all your necessary living requirements while you are on the island and then each month when you take your holidays, you will have your wages to spend on having a good time & travelling!

At Rimba, we have a staff base of 23, which is a mix of local and foreign people. We have 22 chalets, at full capacity we take around 50 adults or 65 if it is a mix with kids. The island is quite small & undeveloped; there are around 7 resorts, all similar set up to ours. Pulau Sibu is around 7 miles from the mainland; the jetty is around 2 hours drive from Johor Bahru and 3 hours from Singapore.

Qualifications

Experience required:
* Dive Instructor Certification with Padi or SSI
* Basic Microsoft office knowledge including Excel
* Experience in customer service ideal
