To cool off from high noon's desert heat, the Riad Khabia's fragrant courtyard always keeps in store a refreshing and shaded corner; a small, clear, deep pool also helps. Whether at sunrise or sunset, the roof-top terrace always offers an expansive view, panning from palm groves lining the foot of the Atlas mountains, to an intimate view of the Pink City's skyline, a cubist painting's flat mosaic of geometric patterns pierced by the numerous vertical arrows of the mosque's minarets.
