Spend your time helping disabled Children at a care center in Hanoi to build normal lives. Play an active part in enriching the lives of these lovely children by helping to give them an education and vocational skills such as craft making and language skills; as well as this you will be helping to care for the children, play games, sing songs.
This is a thoroughly rewarding program which gives you the opportunity to really make a difference to the lives of these children. There are a number of care centers for disabled children in Hanoi that we are working with and our local team will place you according to any skills or previous experience that you may have, those with no previous experience in childcare are more than welcome to join as well.
The Children at these centers suffer from various disabilities including the effects of Autism, Down Syndrome, Japanese Encephalitis, low brain development and Agent Orange (one of the damaging legacies left behind from the Vietnam war). The ages of the children and young people range from anything between 2 and 22 years.
Your activities will vary depending on which center you are placed at but they may include some of the following:
* Helping the staff at the center with their daily tasks
* Assist with cooking, feeding and looking after the disabled children at the center
* Singing songs and playing games with the children
* Caring for the children
* Helping the staff with general housework including cleaning and maintenance at the center
* Arranging extra outdoor activities with the children (this could include arranging picnics and sight-seeing trips)
