    Begin your Russia and Beyond experience visiting the soviet icons in Moscow, before embarking on the Trans-Siberian railway, which takes you to the city of Irkutsk and the serene Lake Baikal. End your trip amongst the hustle and bustle of Beijing.

    Your Typical Itinerary

    Days 1-2 St Petersburg
    Start you rail adventure in the beautiful city of St Petersburg. The streets, parks and museums all add to the beauty of this city.

    Days 3-4 Moscow
    Admire the Soviet icons of Moscow as you explore the largest city in Europe. The many orthodox churches and St Basil's Cathedral are also worth a visit.

    Days 5-7 Trans-Siberian Railway
    Journey through the lush forests of the region as you leave Moscow for Irkutsk on board the infamous train line that is the Trans-Siberian Railway.

    Day 8 Irkutsk
    Discover the fascinating mix of traditional Siberian and communist-era architecture in this interesting city.

    Days 9-11 Lake Baikal
    Relax and enjoy the tranquil waters of Lake Baikal.

    Days 12-13 Ulan Ude
    Enjoy the unique mix of indigenous and Russian cultures in this city strongly influenced by its neighbouring country of Mongolia.

    Day 14 Ger Camp
    Experience a traditional night in a felt tent, also known as a Ger.

    Days 15-16 Ulaanbaatar
    A visit to the Winter Palace of the last emporer is a must see during your time in Ulaanbaatar.

    Days 17-18 Beijing
    End your trip in the impressive Chinese capital city of Beijing.

    Orientation
    There will be a group meeting in the evening of the day your tour begins.

    Accommodation and Meals
    All your accommodation while on the tour is included. This will be a mixture of basic hotels, hostels and homestays, bed and breakfasts, overnight train and a stay in a Mongolian ger, which are an excellent opportunity to get to know the locals. The cost of the project includes five breakfasts and three dinners. Past experience has shown us that travellers appreciate having the flexibility to choose where to eat the group often chooses to eat together. Your group leader will be more than happy to recommend restaurants. Allow around USD300 for meals not included.

    Tour Support
    Throughout your stay you will have the support and guidance of your local project coordinator and team. You will be provided with competent assistance and help with any questions or advice you may need during your time on the tour. In addition, you will have access to a 24-hour emergency contact number so you can contact one of our UK staff at any time should you need to.
