This option is suited to volunteers with previous medical experience as you will be assisting medics to provide primary health care to patients.
There is also work for non-qualified volunteers. This will involve shadowing local doctors, helping with admin duties or data entry for patients.
For all projects it is important to remain flexible in your attitude and work ethic and be prepared to help in any of the areas that are developing and use your initiative to instigate new project areas with the advice of project staff. Thus we do ask that you arrive with an open mind, positive attitude and strong work ethic in order to utilize your time best and in a way that leaves behind a lasting impression of your time and the volunteer project in Malawi. Itineraries and activities are subject to change.
Spend your time volunteering in many different project areas from field dressing clinics to local orphanages on this medical program. You can also assist the varied work of the Home Based Care team, which provides aid to the local community at the southern end of Lake Malawi.
