  • Description

    Project Details

Despite its' prominent tourist industry Goa sees little if not any of the income generated from visitors. As a result, the region remains extremely poor and the local people in the affected areas are in need of support in education.

Volunteer work will vary based on the needs of the project at that time. You could teach at a local school, care for young children at a day care center or help with computer education, just let us know what your preference is and we'll do our best to find suitable work to suit your needs.

Mornings will usually be spent either at a day care center working with children; at a special education camp and bridge courses to children of immigrant and slum dwelling families or offering computer education to children from orphanages, groups of local women and adolescent girls.

Afternoons may involve helping out at a Girls Orphanage (women only). The Orphanage homes people from 0-80 years of age. As a volunteer you will be involved with computer education, helping with homework, playing games and organizing fun activities. You can also help out with Bridge Courses, teaching conversational English and sharing your computer skills with adolescent girls and women.
