REAL Gap is a leading volunteer abroad organization, also offering programs including paid work, learning a language, teaching English, round the world, adventure and sports, from 2 weeks to 2 years.All our travel advisors have been there and done it. They love talking about their experiences so give them a call, and they will help make sure that the program you choose will be the right one for you. We take safety, ethics and your enjoyment very seriously. We have a 24 hour emergency helpline and all our projects are ethically run and assessed for their community impact. We also run a buddy system so that if you're a solo traveler, we can put you in touch with others traveling at the same time.

What do we do that's different?

We've been going on gap years for decades. The safety, sustainability and variety of experiences is really what differentiates REAL Gap from internships or the Peace Corps programs .... and that's why we're getting more and more international travelers choosing us every year.If you want to volunteer, go ahead! If you want to explore, you can and you can tack on a 2-week trip to the beach to relax after your excursion. If you want to travel independently for 6 months and then pick up one of our programs along the way, well you can do that too...
