  • Description

There are many different volunteer options for you to choose including wildlife rehabilitation, community work, helping in arts and culture or working with children. You'll have a detailed orientation which will cover general information about life in Canada, as well as the specifics of your placement such as your role and responsibilities. Depending on your placement you will either be based in Victoria or Vancouver, BC.

Choose from a number of projects including:

Option 1: Nature Sanctuaries and Wildlife Rehabilitation
Perfect for outdoor and nature lovers, get your hands dirty working on a nature conservation site or wildlife sanctuary. Nature volunteers will help with trail maintenance, work with native plants, gardening, contribute to public education initiatives, fundraising and much more. Wildlife volunteers will work with native species to Canada, helping feed animals and prepare food, cleaning cages, showing visitors around, taking care of injured animals, grounds maintenance and administrative duties

    Option 2: Community
A great choice for those possessing excellent social and people skills. Get involved at a grass-root level or be part of a government-sponsored program assisting those in need. Take part in social assistance programs, shelters and housing projects, health and therapy programs and recreational options.

    Option 3: Arts and Culture
A fantastic opportunity for those interested in the Arts! Working within a gallery you’ll be involved in greeting visitors, answering questions, helping with coat check, working in gift shops and possibly helping with tours for children. You may have the opportunity to direct classes for people with physical and developmental disabilities or senior citizens. Placements are also available in other arts and culture centers and heritage sites.

    Option 4: Children and Youth
If you've bundles of enthusiasm and energy and experience working with young people then this option is excellent for you! Volunteers can share their skills, patience, and presence with children in a variety of settings.

Please note: You can choose from four different project areas. Whichever option you choose, you can put your current skills to use and at the same time develop a set of new ones!
