This programme offers a great opportunity to work with orphaned teenagers as a volunteer in Bolivia. You can help children aged 5 to 18 develop manual skills that they can use to gain employment after they leave the centre. All children at the home are orphaned and volunteers are desperately needed to help build their confidence and to pass on any skills that will brighten their future.
Work hours are varied; you can work either in the mornings, in the afternoons, in the evenings or at the weekends. Your day-to-day activities also vary, so there is no need to worry about having to do the same thing over and over again!
Your daily tasks change according to what you would like to be involved with, though you should remain flexible to the needs of the centre and the children.
This project is located in the beautiful and lively colonial city of Sucre; one of the principal cities in Bolivia. With countless museums, shops restaurants, bars, clubs, and a lively central plaza, there is never a shortage of things to do!
- All has to have some knowledge of the Spanish language before starting their work, not only to get the most out of the project, but also to get around and integrate with the locals. If you do not already speak Spanish it is strongly recommended you take our language course prior to the start of the programme. These are available for 2 or 4 weeks, and are easily combined with the project.
