You will have the opportunity to work directly with youths in a wide variety of activities, offering them a safe and secure environment that encourages interaction. Through day-to-day support, education (school work, English work) and recreational activities, these underprivileged children will benefit from the support given by the projects and volunteers that they may be otherwise lacking in their home lives.
* Program Details
Buenos Aires is home to many orphanages, children's homes and community centers that work with local youths and offer educational information regarding health, work, stay-in-school programs, arts and cultural programs, self-esteem and leadership activities, and many more, in the hope of providing these youth with stability and support.
As a volunteer, you will be involved in a variety of tasks. Tasks may depend on the needs of the project at any given time but can range from:
* Helping children with regular school work
* Giving informal English / Spanish classes
* Spending quality time with children
* Study sessions
* Assisting in daily tasks
* Conversation time
* Playing / sports
* Educational workshops
* Basic education classes (Examples include hygiene, nutrition and safety)
* Games and activities
* Preparation of daily snack or meals
No matter which tasks you undertake during your time as a volunteer, you will find the program a truly rewarding experience. If you arrive with an open mind and a flexible and proactive attitude to help, these tools will enhance the level of your experience.
