Access Cairo has teamed up with a group of highly qualified Arabic teachers who work in reputable international schools to serve as tutors. These teachers offer Arabic classes in both fusha [MSA] and ammeya [Egyptian Dialect].
The semester courses are designed to be compatible with the typical university calendar. Semester courses offer the best opportunity to learn the Arabic language and gain a deep understanding of the Egyptian Culture. For the spring, summer and fall semesters there are 2 options: Option A (the 12 week course) and Option B (the 6 week course). The 12 week course is taught 5 days a week from Sunday to Thursday and there are 3 hours of lessons each day. This course is priced at USD 1500. The shorter course only spans 6 weeks and lessons are also taught from Sunday to Thursday. There are 4 hours of class time per day. This course costs USD 1200. Both courses include an additional 10 hour per week internship and a weekly 3 hour workshop.
Those following one of the courses offered by the Access Cairo Program, will receive quality lessons delivered by highly qualified teachers. In fact, in the past many of our courses have been taught by professors from nearby AUC, notably Professor Mahmoud Al Tonsi. There is a limit of 6 students to a class to ensure that all students receive the attention that they need. Materials are provided, with each student receiving the necessary books and a CD. A number of course options are available so as to be flexible enough to suit any schedule. One on one tutoring is also available for those who desire it. A certificate with the student's level can be obtained on completion of the course.

The Reach Out NGO was founded in 2008 with the mission of cultural exchange and capacity building in Egypt. Through its program Reach Out aims to build up cultural exchange between Egyptians and foreigners. This includes several features, from providing interactive workshops to organizing internships for interested students with other NGOs and organizations in Cairo. As language is key to understanding different cultures, the Integrated Human Development Center (IHDC) language program was our first project and has rapidly developed to fit the needs of those who have joined it. Here Egyptians get the opportunity to learn foreign languages directly by volunteer native speakers for a very low cost. Hence a wide range of people who otherwise would never be given the chance to develop their skills are supported. At the same time the language program provides cultural exchange for both sides as volunteer teachers are offered 2 Arabic classes a week. But as cultural exchange is not only dedicated to language our organization offers programs for art and music exchange, amongst others, to understand traditions and customs of other cultures in daily life. It is therefore a win-win project for locals and foreigners, who learn to understand, accept and integrate with each other. An essential dialogue shall be initiated between our cultures which in turn will build stronger links between them.
