Job Title: Flash Designer/Developer

My client is an Online Design & Development team based in Gibraltar. The team's purpose is to design and maintain the company's sports and e-gaming sites across multiple languages, as well as producing various marketing material to advertise them with.

Job Purpose:

Working closely with design & development team members. The Flash Designer/Developer has 2 main purposes:

1. To execute high-end Flash/graphic materials (e.g. Banners/animated gifs etc) to meet briefed marketing promotional requirements.
2. To develop technical Flash solutions to aid progression of site and software functionality (eg. Xml feeds, dynamic templates, video streaming).

Key Responsibilities:

The tasks listed below are not exhaustive, but form the body of the role.
* Design and develop visual and technical solutions to meet supplied briefs.
* Briefed requirements are to service marketing promotional campaigns, new website designs, new language site versions, site expansion/refresh, functional enhancements, brand reinforcement and mini-sites for events/services.
* Materials required to produce include site and software graphics, web pages, emails, animated gifs, Flash banners/applications including xml feeds.
* Research and development areas include xml fed Flash banners, dynamic Flash templates, Adobe Air applications and video streaming.
* Follow studio processes throughout the course of each job, liaising with all teams as required.
* Ensure work produced is consistent with the creative direction and brand guidelines set by the Creative Design Lead.
* Ensure work is produced to timescales and deadlines briefed.
* Quality-check all personal design and production output to ensure completed work is error-free, meets the brief, functions correctly and achieves the desired design standards.
* Build a rounded knowledge of my client's online products to aid performance of role.
* Learn new software skills and processes as required.
* Contribute to department and work related meeting as required to best perform role.

Qualifications

Essential:
* Design Degree or equivalent
* A sound understanding of online design principles
* A strong and varied online portfolio displaying design processes and Flash execution.
* Experience within a commercial web environment (in-house or agency).
* Expert working knowledge of software: Photoshop, Illustrator, Flash (AS2/AS3) and Dreamweaver
* Demonstrable experience of:
- Working with xml feeds
- Object orientated programming working with custom classes
- Creating dynamic Flash templates/banners

Desirable:
* Experience and skills in JavaScript including Jquery libraries
* Demonstrable web design skills (XHTML, CSS)
* Experience of executing development of design concepts across different mediums and formats (eg. On-line, email, and interactive DVDs)
* Experience of video compression and streaming
* Experience of creating Adobe Air rich media applications
* Experience of end-to-end delivery cycle of websites
* Knowledge of current web-design trends and techniques
* Good knowledge of web design requirements for a gaming audience
* Interest in sports and/or sports betting or gaming
