The Pupu Rangi Nature Sanctuary is a not-for-profit organization dedicated to the protection of the native flora and fauna in Northland, New Zealand. Our goal is to protect and extend a vibrant ecosystem while educating others on the importance of conservation. We view ourselves as partners with our volunteers, community, and the environment. Between November and April, we welcome volunteers who are interested in learning about conservation and the New Zealand ecosystem.
The Pupu Rangi Nature Sanctuary is the only organization in the area which offers the opportunity to see kiwi in the wild. While working with us, you learn about what it takes to protect an endangered species and you apply those skills in the field.
In 2015, the Pupu Rangi Nature Sanctuary was the runner up in the Trustpower Community Awards - the Heritage and Environment category.
