How does an 8-day stay in a picturesque village in the mountains of Spain sound? And how does it sound if you add in room and board, and an interesting company? These aren't trick questions - this is the deal offered by Pueblo Ingles, a language school with offices in Madrid which specializes in helping professionals whose first language is Spanish to improve their conversational English by isolating them in said village for seven days with a group of English speakers.

The Spanish speakers pay, while the English speakers stay for free - they just have to live up to their name and speak English to the Spanish speakers, morning, noon, and night, through meals, excursions and dedicated 'talking time'. That's the exchange - your holiday for your conversation. Everything except your transport to and from the Madrid pick-up point is paid for. Highlights

Pueblo Ingles is the best way to experience Spanish culture - learn about other cultures (we usually have representatives from 4 or 5 continents!) and generally have a great, social time. The highlight is meeting the 40 wonderful individuals (20 Spanish and 20 English natives from all over the world), sharing experiences, and forging incredible friendships.

The Spanish clients we have are great - a mingling of multinational clients from companies like Microsoft, Vodafone, Mercedez Benz etc... Very well-educated (especially about wine!).

Other highlights of course are the 8 days of accommodation, meals and activities totally given. There is no catch at all. You just have to make your way to Madrid and we cover expenses including insurance for the duration of the 8 days.

Program Fees Include:

Our Company will cover all costs once the program begins. You will cover the costs of your flight and the hotel for the night before and after the program. You will be covered by an accident policy while participating in the program. If you get sick, we will take you to the doctor, but our policy does not cover the cost of medicine. The only expenses you may have once you're on the bus to Pueblo Ingles are between-meal snacks, drinks or refreshments, cigarettes, or medication required from nearby village pharmacies. We would recommend that by the time you board in the bus, that you have a minimum of 50 Euros.

A typical Pueblo Ingles volunteer is looking for an alternative holiday. He/she is social, outgoing, open to trying new things and interested in meeting people and learning about new cultures! We have all types of participants - from backpackers passing through Spain, to important businessmen curious about our award-winning idea, retirees, teenagers, couples, families... it's hard to pin down a profile! The common thread would be an individuals with a leap in their gait and a spark in their eye.
