Dates
Programs begin the first Saturday of every month (excluding December).

  • Description

Gain valuable professional experience as you intern at a nonprofits, NGOs or other organizations in Ghana. You'll learn more about yourself and what you want to do in the future as you get practical workplace skills. Internships are specifically designed to provide you with professional experience for career exploration and development. To ensure the best internship experience, internships should last at least one month, and a 2-6 month period is recommended.

While we do not require a specific major, we look for skills, abilities and goals that would be beneficial for a given project. In addition to an application process, expect internship workload and expectations to be more in line with that of a professional placement.

As with all ProWorld experiences, our onsite staff is here to support you every step in your journey with us. Many members of our team are ProWorld alumni, so we are uniquely prepared to guide you in your internship.

  • Highlights

Ghana is known as Africa for beginners. It's safe, stable, hot and lively. Homes are small and stuffy, so people are always out and about. A cultural mash-up, you'll see women in traditional clothes chatting on cell phones and men in suits walking farm animals. You can explore historic slave forts, shop in bustling colorful markets, wander through rainforests, or laze on the hundreds of miles of beaches.

  • Qualifications

Program qualifications vary depending on your project. Interns must be 18 years of age or older and be in good health to participate. Some programs may also have language requirements.

ProWorld participants are adventurous, caring, sensible, humble, culturally sensitive and curious individuals. You'll learn and grow while improving yourself and ProWorld communities.
