Volunteer with a local Peruvian development agency to enhance the lives of locals, as well as advancing your Spanish language skills. Explore beautiful Peru and embrace the language first-hand. Set in a picturesque valley lined with snow capped Andean peaks, this immersive program greatly improves the Spanish fluency of each participant. In addition to private Spanish classes and numerous adventures, you will work with one of our 20 affiliated NGO's on a focused development project. The focus of your development project is determined by your specific skills, your interests and the needs of the local community.
Hike the Inca Trail, watch the sun rise over Machu Picchu, see the sun temple of Ollantaytambo, and explore the Amazon River Basin. These and other adventures combine with valuable classes and productive volunteer work to form a comprehensive and unique educational experience. Home stay accommodations, private Spanish classes, and cultural excursions facilitate improved language fluency and full immersion in the richness of Peruvian life.
Students must have completed at least their freshmen year in college and have a basic proficiency in Spanish.
Program fees help support ongoing development projects in Peru and include: full room and board, domestic transportation, 24 hour safety and medical services, and full funding of development projects and internships. The program fee also includes multiple trips to Incan ruins, cultural activities, and can include hiking the Inca trial to Machu Picchu.
