    Experience life in Peru, hike the Inca Trail to Machu Picchu, enjoy roundtable discussions with professors, and volunteer in the local community...this is your class schedule.

    Based in the cradle of Peru's Sacred Valley, home to mysterious marvel on the Incan past, ProPeru's Culture and Development Studies semester balances site-based academics with service in sustainable community projects for a truly rewarding study abroad experience. Group volunteer efforts, field-based study, and cultural/adventure excursions complement courses with local and international professors and intensive language study to give greater insight into the local culture and create a fully integrated, immersive program experience!

    Programs are highly supported by an onsite staff team and welcoming community partners. ProWorld, founded in 1998, is a true leader in the fields of study abroad and international development.

    Your program includes: meaningful volunteer projects, Spanish and academic classes, home stay family living, weekly adventures and 16 semester credits. Apply early to secure your position!

    Prerequisite:

    - Completion of one year of university studies and one semester of university level Spanish
    - Good academic standing at your home university
    - A positive attitude and a will to help

    - Intensive group orientation
    - 16 Academic Credits, Tuition Fees, Books, & Transcripts from JU
    - Academic classes four to five days a week
    - Airport pick up in Cusco
    - Full room and board with a local family
    - Intensive Spanish Classes
    - Four to six group development project outings
    - 400 USD per student of development project funding
    - Visits to Archeological sites, weekend hikes, and cultural activities
    - Hiking the Inca Trail to Machu Picchu
    - 24 hour emergency contact on site
    - Regular staff check ins and access to ProPeru office in Cusco

    Program fees do not include: international airfare, passport fees, insurance, independent travel during the program, or personal expenses. Program fees may change without notice due to currency exchanges and the unique nature of international travel.
