  • Description

Plan your internship abroad with ProWorld, and work side-by-side with local NGOs and community groups. With a customized, hands-on internship, your skills and interests are matched with our host communities self-determined development goals. Apply your talents to meaningful sustainable development projects in the health care, environment, or social and economic development sectors. Gain relevant, pre-professional experiences as you contribute to grassroots development projects throughout Peru.

Supported internships in ProWorld host communities with excursions and homestay immersion. You will live in communities near a ProWorld office and 4 to 18 other Interns, work alone or in small groups, and receive extensive staff support. ProWorld offers cultural and outdoor adventures. Based on duration excursions may include: visiting excavated and unexcavated Mayan ruins, exploring rainforests, caves and jungles, and participating in remote community cultural events. During free weekends, volunteers can also plan their own adventures.

Programs are highly supported by an international staff team and welcoming community partners. ProWorld, founded in 1998, is a true leader in the field of sustainable international development. Homestays, language study and cultural/adventure excursions encourage participants' complete immersion and cultural integration.

Further, ProWorld's on-site Project Coordinators work year round with our host communities assessing needs, thinking creatively, and setting long-term goals for sustainable development and volunteer participation. Programs start every month of the year and last from 2-26 weeks. Enroll now!
