Sports in Argentina are extremely popular and there are so many children wishing to participate, but due to a lack of resources, opportunity is limited.

Coach Sports with Projects Abroad in Argentina
Teaching sports with Projects Abroad in Argentina involves working at one of the largest and most successful sports clubs in the country. Based on the outskirts of Cordoba, the club was founded over 60 years ago. Over 2000 students benefit from its impressive sports facilities. Rugby, field hockey and tennis are taught to students of all ages. The Club has won over 20 titles in rugby and hockey tournaments at local, national and international levels.
Depending on your interests, you can choose to focus the entirety of your time on one sport. However, the freedom is there for you to coach a variety of levels in rugby, field hockey and tennis. You can train students of all abilities, which offers you a huge amount of diversity in the activities you take on - you could spend a few hours per day on advanced rugby skills with older children, then organize small team games for younger students, then organize a training session for young adults!
Your Role Volunteering Abroad on a Sports Project in Argentina:
Whether it is as a rugby, field hockey or tennis coach, you will help to develop student's basic skills and techniques. Once you arrive in Argentina, you will be introduced to the students and your supervisor. You will work with the local teacher to help co-ordinate and plan coaching sessions. Additional tasks may include planning match strategies, taking practice games and assisting in team selection. Don't worry if you have little or no coaching experience - the staff here are dedicated to their programs and very open to volunteers, so will help you in any way they can.
There are typically 30 students to a group. You will find that every player is different and they will greatly benefit from your specialized care and attention to improve their performance. In turn, this will improve the performance of the team as a whole.
Emphasis is also put on enjoyment and participation. The students attending this sports club have a real passion about playing sports. Your role, therefore, will be to help make sure the fun and enthusiasm continues. As a foreigner, your very presence will help to make each training session enjoyable and is vital to maintaining the interest of the children. Whether you have coaching experience or just a love of sports, you can play a major part in this progressive sporting experience.

As part of the global economy, Projects Abroad helps create local employment wherever we send volunteers. Employing local staff overseas and using their talents and knowledge is important to us. This local knowledge and support enables the organization to channel the skills of the volunteers from more affluent countries to regions around the world where they are needed. Volunteers also learn from their placements and the people they meet, and they gain experience in a chosen field. In the 21st century, we believe this mutual respect is what cultural exchange is all about.
