Immerse yourself in Spanish and the fascinating Latin American culture on one of our two week or month long Spanish language classes in Argentina, Bolivia, Costa Rica, Mexico, or Peru.
You will have 15 hours of tutoring a week with a qualified teacher on a one-to-one basis or will be paired with another volunteer who speaks the same level of Spanish. You'll learn quickly - especially because you will also have plenty of opportunities to practice your new skills while staying with your Spanish-speaking host family!
The intensive classes are tailored to suit your ability. Whether you are a complete beginner or have been learning Spanish for several years, being surrounded by the language every day will help your skills progress in leaps and bounds. After your lessons, there is plenty of free time for you to explore the local area - after you've done your homework, of course!
Alternatively you can undertake a short 14-hour or 30-hour course in Spanish. These courses are tailored to your needs and run alongside your main volunteer project. If you are planning on volunteering abroad for three months or more, you could also complete a 60-hour course alongside your volunteer experience. For more information please visit our foreign language course page.
Why not learn Spanish on a Language Project in Argentina, in the beautiful city of Cordoba? Cordoba is a vibrant and attractive city where, after completing your Language Project, you could also participate in volunteer opportunities in Teaching, Care, Sports, Journalism, and Medicine.
Or study Spanish in Bolivia. Here volunteers are based in the city of Cochabamba, which has an enviable spring climate year round. After studying Spanish in Bolivia, you could join a Teaching, Care, Sports, Medicine, Conservation, or Journalism project.
You might like to learn Spanish on a Language Project in Peru, in the Sacred Valley of the Incas. This project provides a great insight into Peruvian culture. You will be living in Cusco, which is full of Incan heritage and opportunities for exploration and adventure. It's easy to trek in the jungle, visit the ancient site of Machu Picchu or enjoy white water rafting on the Urubamba River.
Other opportunities for volunteering abroad in Peru are available in Teaching, Care, Sports, Medicine, Inca Projects, and Conservation. Many volunteers choose to join one of these projects after finishing their month Spanish Language Project.
Join a Spanish Language Class in Costa Rica, in the small, picturesque town of Liberia. Costa Rica is a rugged country with many national parks, mountains and volcanoes. It's also a great place to use as a base to visit other Central American countries like Nicaragua and Panama. After completing a Spanish Language Course in Costa Rica, you could also participate in voluntary work placements in Teaching, Care, Sports, and Conservation.
Learn Spanish on a Language Project in Mexico and you'll be based in Guadalajara, a large city that's as typically Mexican as you can get. Mexico offers something to everyone volunteering abroad. It's an accessible country, with plenty of hotels, good public transportation and lots to keep you occupied.
Whether you are after the peace and tranquility of the mountains and archaeological sites, or the adventure of the jungles and beaches, it's easy to get off the beaten track. Mexico offers numerous opportunities for international volunteer work after your Language Project, with projects covering Teaching, Care, Conservation & Environment, Medicine, Journalism, Animal-Care, and Arts & Crafts.

As part of the global economy, Projects Abroad helps create local employment wherever we send volunteers. Employing local staff overseas and using their talents and knowledge is important to us. This local knowledge and support enables the organization to channel the skills of the volunteers from more affluent countries to regions around the world where they are needed. Volunteers also learn from their placements and the people they meet, and they gain experience in a chosen field. In the 21st century, we believe this mutual respect is what cultural exchange is all about.
