  • Description

Project Hawai'i Summer Camp is a 3-fold program that allows teens to earn service learning hours while exploring the islands wonders and learning a new culture.

While our program goals work hand in hand, we value our goals to help the homeless children, so we will start with this.

Working hands on with the homeless children throughout their camp activities will help them to gain self-esteem and open the world (or their island) up to them. We will also help them learn healthier life skills that will in return help them escape the poverty lifestyle they live day to day. Teens will be able to partner with a camp buddy or two and help them with their daily routine of crafts, arts, music, nutrition and more. Our camp has two sessions:

First One: Is Adventures Abound, taking us all over the island to open the wonders to the children from eco-tours, space exploration, fun in the sun, zoo adventures and more. This is not just educational and fun for the children, but it allows the teens the opportunity to learn about the islands from top to bottom. This session runs Mon-Fri from 9A-3:30P. (we spend the evenings with Cultural exploration, shopping, and sightseeing) The weekends are for island hopping and travel for water sports, etc.

Second One: This camp is a sleepover in a retreat setting high in the majestic mountains of our tropical jungle. The teens will spend 5 days with their buddies (of course teens will have their time off from the children visiting hidden treasures of the islands, not available to the general public. Shopping and even movie night). During this time we have a whole new experience with our camp buddies and other teens alike. Some of the highlights of this camp is helping the children to create their own theater play, monster movie night, glam night and water wars. Too much fun in just a short time.

Now for the Adventure part of our tour:
Teens will explore two different islands from the waterfalls, oceans and even the volcano. Teens will spend their weekends and off time exploring the wonders of the beaches that are available only to locals and learn to surf by Hawaiian Pros. Our adventures will take us up on the botanical gardens hill top to ride the zip line, to the edge of the ocean to swim with dolphins and into lava caves formed by molten lava.

The last part of our adventure is the Cultural learning and understanding of the Hawaiian natives. Not just because we are on the islands, but we are natives of the island. We know what it means to live aloha, as that is in our hearts, and our souls are filled with traditions passed through the generations. So, let us share our culture with you, and you will in return present your homeless camp buddies with an Authentic Hawaiian Luau that only you can prepare. Teens will learn the art of Hula, play ukulele and even make all the dishes served at the luau. Teens will also make their Ti'Leaf hula shirts and wrap the lua lua by hand the old traditional ways.

There is so much more to this tour than can be put into words. So, open your mind and join us for an experience of a life time. You will leave your footprints in the Hawaiian sands worth following for generations to come.
