Porthole Cottage is within easy walking distance of Whitepark Bay, one of the National Trust's top rated beaches.

Ballintoy, Port Braddan, Giant's Causeway, Portballintrae, Carrick-a-Rede Rope Bridge, Dunseverick Harbour, Dunluce Castle, and Bushmills with its famous distillery (guided tours recommended) are all within a 7 mile radius.

Take a short drive to Ballycastle for a day trip on the ferry to Rathlin Island - see the Puffins, seals and other wildlife!

Visit the picturesque Mussenden Temple at Downhill.

Greencastle in Donegal is a short drive and ferry crossing from Magilligan. The North coast is famous for sea angling and surfing.

In May each year about 100,000 people visit the International North West 200 motorcycle road races on the Portrush-Coleraine-Portstewart triangle.

In early September Portrush hosts the annual airshow, another great family event.

Porthole Cottage is easily accessible from the North Antrim Tourist Route.

From Ballycastle take the road for Ballintoy. Continue on road straight through the village and about 1 mile north you will see a sign for Mosside on the left. This is the Moycraig Road (just opposite Whitepark Bay on right). Turn left into the Moycraig Road and Porthole Cottage is up the second lane on the right (approx 300 m); drive slowly or you could miss the entrance. Turn into the lane and when it divides keep left, and then turn left again when you see the NITB 4 Star sign on the pillar.
