Primary classroom goals: pronunciation help, ESL activities, assisting teacher.

Volunteers must have an intermediate level of Spanish. If not, the Pichilemu Institute of Language Studies offers a discount rate on classes for volunteers.

Estimated Room and Board Costs: USD 1500 for the 12 weeks

Registration/application forms must be completed by February 1st for the fall semester (March- mid July) and by July 15th for the spring semester (August 15th-late December).

  • Highlights

Chilean municipal schools are over-crowded and under-funded. The English teachers often need help with English pronunciation, speaking, and listening skills. This is your chance to give back to someone with the help of your native language skills.

20 hour work weeks are light, leaving plenty of time for surfing or relaxing at the beach.

Pichilemu is a small fishing village/international surfing destination. It is 3.5 hours from the capital city of Santiago.
