  • Description

    Have an incredible experience living in the heart of the rainforest while working on a research and conservation project in the Peruvian Amazon.

    This is a fantastic opportunity to learn about conserving the natural ecosystem through research and sustainable initiatives with the local communities whilst immersing yourself into life in the Amazon.

    Volunteers at the project will be involved in jungle research which combines conservation with local community development by working alongside a team of scientists and local experts. Volunteers help with projects such as the study of the endangered Blue Headed Macaw, monitoring and documenting local flora and helping local communities increases their sustainability and protect the environment through bio garden and reforestation projects.

    You will be able to learn about the impacts of humans on biodiversity and gain valuable field skills for a career, degree, or just for fun!

    The longer you stay, the more you will become involved in the on-going work of the jungle centre. You can get involved in the monitoring projects depending on the current research taking place.

    You will be given full training in your first few days at the project so all you require is an interest and enthusiasm in the Amazon jungle.

  • Highlights

    * Live in an award winning Eco lodge in the heart of the rainforest
    * 4 day jungle expedition included if doing 4 weeks or longer
    * Help conserve the Amazon
    * Work alongside scientists and local experts

    By volunteering at our jungle conservation centre you will be making a direct contribution to helping preserve the Amazon in Peru, which is of course critical for the global environment.

    The centre would not be able to run without the hard work of the volunteers and their financial support. The majority of the volunteer fee goes directly to the centre providing an essential source of funding for their future work.

Definitely the best month of my life. There were so many moments that were just surreal, it just felt as if we had wandered into a nature documentary
