Everything was really very smooth and I enjoyed it immensely.

The most important thing I learned was probably to not just assume that people know what you're capable of, and to point out when there's something you know how to do or would like to do.

It was really nice to have a señora to interact with and she definitely helped me get used to Spanish culture. Also in country staff was phenomenal with that. Mostly, though, Spanish culture is not that different from US culture and I found it very easy to integrate myself.

I loved where I was working, I loved my roommates, and my host mom was fantastic. I also enjoyed just hanging out in Spain.

Phenomenal staff! Loved my supervisor! I loved my internship!

I learned so much from Maria, it was amazing to have an internship where we were able to become close friends as well as work together to create new art. I learned a lot about myself as a performer; I realized both insecurities and strengths I have and how to use both of those things to make a really honest theatre piece. I also learned how theatre connects people all over the world, from different cultures and locations, and teaches us how to empathize and understand those who are different than us.

I would recommend PAA to everyone! It was so amazing to be able to intern abroad, and I think going so close after graduating college helped me clarify my goals in life and exposed me to new ideas.

This overall was a great program and has been a positive effect on my life.

The in-country staff were very helpful in terms of help and check-in's as well as activities planned. Although I felt the internships needed more structure as far as set tasks for us to do. I provided social media marketing for the theater company Verins Escenics and research for charities willing to donate to the arts. I also learned how to work with a Spanish theater cast backstage as well as movement classes.

I loved my home stay my host was a woman in her 40's named Blanca and she was very helpful especially when I became sick. She provided me with everything I needed. I also lived very close to my school which was beneficial. I had one girl Japanese room mate who knew neither Spanish or English. It was a great way to interact with someone whose culture you knew nothing about. Even if you used Google translate most of the time :)

I got to meet a lot of amazing people, not only from Spain, but from all over the world.

Everyone always went above and beyond to help me when I asked, even if the issue didn't have to do with the program.

The apartment was in a great neighborhood. I always felt safe there and that I could get whatever I needed. The dynamic of living with two international students and one American student from the program was the most ideal that I could have hoped for. I got to know people from different countries, who could both help me with my Spanish, and I could help them with their English. At the same time I had some one from my country and program to relate to. There were normal tensions that arose from living together (dishes, noise levels).

I absolutely loved the people I worked with, even if I couldn't really get to know most of them because we didn't speak the same language. I don't feel like I've specifically improved my theater skills, but I've been able to see what it's like to work in a different country with people who work in a different way than I do, and that will help me in the future.

There needs to be better organization

The staff is nice and pretty knowledgeable, I just felt like they were kind of disorganized. There needs to be better organization, better communication, and better placement with the internships. The internships won't be that amazing, but the tours are great. Be prepared to spend a lot of money in Barcelona; it's an expensive city.

Overall Very Organized

I appreciated how organized everything was. I lost my wallet during the first week, yet I was able to get cash from the international college later that same week. I was grateful to the helpfulness of the staff.
