Peduli Anak Foundation struggles to provide care and education to 80 children. As a volunteer, you have the opportunity to work with (former) street children and disadvantaged children in our shelter homes and schools.
Volunteers work alongside local staff to assist in the day-to-day running of the foundation and schools. There are opportunities to teach in the classrooms, provide care for children, help keep medical records and provide basic healthcare, give training/workshop to our staff, and carry out our projects.
Volunteers also have the opportunity to create awareness campaigns to inform the local community of the importance of children's education, health and other social issues on the island of Lombok.
Several projects generally available for volunteers:
1. Music class. We have a set of musical instruments (modern and traditional) and a bunch of talented young music enthusiasts. We need music teacher who can teach our children to play instruments, to sing, or to enjoy music in any possible ways.
2. English class. Fluent english speakers can help in teaching english in our primary school and run an english club as an after school program.
3. Gardening. Plenty areas to plant herbs, trees, flowers, etc.
4. Art class. We have a classroom and art supplies, but we need somebody to introduce arts to our children via paintings, drawing, handicrafts, and even mural paintings.
5. Assist in our primary school, vocational school (sewing class, computer, engineering, woodwork), kitchen, shelter homes & office.

Peduli Anak Foundation's mission is to fight for the rights of street children, orphans, and waifs and to provide support and care in education, health, and child advocacy. Although our main area of operations is based in Indonesia, expansion towards other development countries in Asia, Africa, and South America can be seen as our future ambitions.
