A Bed & Breakfast is a service concept catering to the traveler’s love for individuality and personal attention. And within its name are two major amenities that are offered: a bed, for a comfortable night’s rest, and, in the morning, a substantial breakfast, the most important meal of the day.
Every morning, our guests at Passion Fruit Bed & Breakfast will feel a part of nature's homage to each sunrise just as the Fajardo’s Hymn states. We, the Innkeepers, welcome you every morning to enjoy those first sunrays while having breakfast in the pool area. Breakfast, a family style meal that can be enjoyed at your leisure, will be served from 8:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. A large table set with a beautiful passion fruit colored tablecloth, a bouquet of tropical flowers, simple china, and stainless steel flatware will await you. Fresh fruit, some from our tropical garden when in season, will be served as your first course. The rest of the breakfast menu will consist of coffee, cereals, eggs, baked goods, and natural juices. Breakfast at Passion Fruit is a social event and we encourage our guests to share their experiences.
Your visit will be enhanced by the unique experience of meeting one of our illustrious citizens from Fajardo, Puerto Rico. The bedrooms will be named after one of these prominent citizens, such as Carlos Arroyo and Antonia Coello de Novello, to name a few. Within the room that bears their name a brief summary of their contributions to society will be posted. Do you know who served as the Surgeon General of the United States or who was a famous poet? The stories of these distinguished Fajardeños will spice up your breakfast conversations and will be something you can share with family and friends back home. We hope to provide you with a unique experience as you learn about some of the celebrities of our town.
Of course, the other amenities that you expect with your lodging are present. Our bedrooms are spacious and clean, the beds comfortable, the bathrooms tidy, and the maid service exceptional. Most hotels will offer you a room, but will lack that “personal touch.” At Passion Fruit Bed & Breakfast, you will receive the attention, care, and warmth that will leave you feeling less like a guest and more like part of our family.

Getting to Puerto Rico

Luis Muñoz Marín International Airport (SJU) in San Juan is where all international planes arrive and depart. It serves as the Caribbean hub for American Airlines and American Eagle and there are connections to almost every island nation in the region with these two airlines.   Many other airlines based in the United States serve Puerto Rico from numerous cities. These include Delta Air Lines and US Airways.  Destinations further away include Frankfurt, London and Madrid in Europe and several cities in South America like Bogota.

Dominican Republic - Puerto Rico
Ferries del Caribe offers three weekly ferries between Santo Domingo, the capital of the Dominican Republic and Mayaguez in Puerto Rico. From Santo Domingo they leave on Sundays, Tuesdays and Thursdays at 8:00pm arriving in Mayaguez at 8am the following morning. From Mayaguez, Puerto Rico, they leave on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays at 8:00pm, and arrive in Santo Domingo at 8:00am the next morning. The journey takes about 12 hours in both directions.
Puerto Rico - United States Virgin Islands
Every two weeks leaving on a Sunday at 1pm, there is a fast ferry between Fajardo in Puerto Rico and St. John and St. Thomas in the United States Virgin Islands. In the opposite direction, boats leave every two weeks on a Thursday at 5pm from St. John and 6:00pm from St. Thomas. The trip takes about 2 hours and services are wih Transportation Services Virgin Islands.
