  • Description

Passage believes that our clients should be the primary architects of its programs. Before coming to Asia as well as during the program itself, individuals can work closely with Passage staff to design precisely the kind of program they are seeking. In this way, clients can use their own interests and creativity to ensure that their overseas experience envelops everything that they desire.

We work with clients to create customized trips for individuals, groups, businesses, and schools. We can incorporate any or all of our usual components-home stay, internships, language learning, seminars, trekking and exploration-and design and develop a program to fit the group's specific needs.

Passage can also design, develop, and facilitate programs for special interest groups in fields such as ecology, photography, the arts and crafts, music, religion, medicinal herbs, adventure travel and much more. We have created special tours for large and small groups of friends, families, and associates of all ages catering specifically to their interests and passions. We have an extensive network of coordinators and guides who can accommodate the needs of any group.

The combination of the extensive opportunities that we have developed and the individually tailored programs we provide make Passage programs the ideal experience for participants looking for a rich, cross-cultural journey.

Adult Passage - This program is a customized program that offers adults the opportunity to visit Nepal as more than tourists, to have a more extensive experience of Nepali culture, customs, traditions and history. Passage will offer them activities such as in-depth cultural tours, lectures, excursions and treks. This program will also be ideal for students who have already been to Nepal through a Passage program in the past and would love to make the journey again, with a companion or family. It will cater to people who want to take a break, travel and see our part of the world and not necessarily just visit tourist spots. With the resources, contacts and experience that Passage has acquired over the years, we can guarantee a dynamic program.

The program can be customized depending on the duration of the group's visit.

Schools - Schools who would like to offer their students study abroad programs can use us as a resource to help their own teachers develop a program or to create a complete custom program with a prepared educators' curriculum. We are often able to offer teachers a free trip if they accompany their group of students.

Families and Friends - Families and friends can customize personal programs of any length to create a unique holiday experience that combines the adventure of traveling with experiential learning. Passage can develop short courses, lectures, and local learning opportunities based on the specific interests of the group.

Businesses - Passage can organize excursions for businesses interested in establishing a special tour for their employees. Such programs can provide excellent tools for building staff cohesion, as well as for developing particular skills such as leadership, team building, and problem solving. Depending on the specific needs and interests of the group, we can organize programs for you ranging from river rafting to yoga study.

Non-Profit Organizations - For non-profit organizations, Passage can arrange programs to develop similar skills as for businesses, such as team building and problem-solving. Additionally, for organizations dealing with specific social problems, Passage can develop educational tours to enhance the group's knowledge of particular issues such as urban or rural poverty, refugees, international development, ecological conservation, and healthcare.

Naturalists - Those interested in environmental issues can join Passage for a customized trip focusing on the specific ecosystems of South Asia, ranging from the tropics of India to the sub-arctic climates of the Himalayas. Depending on the interests of the group, the program can focus on bird watching, botany, conservation, reforestation, water projects, or eco-tourism.

Artists - South Asia is a fertile land for artists of all kinds, and Passage can develop group programs for artists, architects, photographers, sculptors, and jewelry makers to immerse them in particular traditions through short or long-term apprenticeships and coursework. For those interested in art history or Asian architecture, Passage can also develop group tours based on the specific interests of the group.

Alternative Therapies - In recent years, South Asia's varied alternative therapies have gained international recognition. Passage can organize retreats for groups interested in strengthening their knowledge and practice of alternative therapies such as yoga, meditation, naturopathy, Tibetan medicine, and Ayurvedic medicine. We can also create programs for people suffering from particular ailments who wish to seek alternative treatment.

Passage creates customized trips for individuals, groups and schools. We can incorporate any or all of our usual components--home stay, internships, language learning, seminars, trek and exploration--and design and develop a program to fit the groups specific needs.
