  • Description

    Volunteers welcome to help children learn to use computers and to use computers to learn other subjects too. Learning by doing, at Thai schools. Teach at Thai primary and secondary schools.

    Motivate and help students to learn while at the same time learning to use computers and searching the Internet.

    A unique cross cultural opportunity. Get to really meet, live and work with the local people in villages and schools

    Home stay with a family, or stay at the school's teachers house. Volunteers teach in villages and towns. Volunteers can also stay at Openmind Projects own volunteer houses in Nongkhai by the Mekong River and Krabi, by the sea.

    You work independently, can accept simple living conditions and are able to cooperate with the local staff.

  • Highlights

    Volunteers teach about 4 hours per day mainly by demonstrating applications and giving students tasks, like searching Internet for information and then presenting the information in Word or PowerPoint etc format.

  • Qualifications

    You must have good computer skills and be able to work independently, accept simple living conditions and be able to cooperate with the local staff. Good English, computer and Internet skills.

    * Open mind projects arranges for volunteer placements (please note that you volunteer for the placement not us!)
    * Open mind projects discuss volunteer work with placements/schools/institutions before volunteers go there
    * Weekend Introduction
    - to your work and placement,
    - advice about Thai life and culture
    - language introduction. Daily and classroom vocabulary
    - how to work with local people, teachers, staff and students/children
    * Accommodation at most placements (You are welcome to our House in Nongkhai during your free time)
    * Meals at placements unless otherwise agreed.
    * English and Thai speaking contact persons during your stay in Thailand
    * A Certificate as a successful volunteer
    * You pay for your travel to the destination, to and in Thailand, insurance, medical treatment and personal expenses.
