Ohana International School in Tokyo is an inclusive preschool with a difference. The school caters to children who are between 18 months and five years, and of different nationalities. About 60 percent of the children are non-Japanese, 10 percent are bicultural (or Japanese plus another), and 30 percent are Japanese. Our aim is to create a warm, caring environment that reflects our philosophy and provides an infinite number of opportunities for children to develop a love for learning. Our learning program is designed to build on strengths of each child, valuing families and their ethnicity. The program is play-based and designed through careful study of early childhood educational practices.
