The place of art in a society in transformation, as ours nowadays, is strictly related to the spaces and the processes of daily social environment, and to the ways in which the artist is able to find its place among all the possible social, individual, economic and political spaces and times. As a consequence there is a close relationship, even an overlapping, between artistic and curatorial research, continuously redefining each other's role in the artistic space.
The two-year MA program is the only program in Italy and Europe with the objective of uniting a solid education in the field of visual arts production with a highly specialized curatorial program, with the aim of building the skills of artists and curators starting from the same shared exhibition environment.
The program offers a series of theoretical lessons and project workshops, developed in collaboration with different Italian and European artistic institutions, covering the various subjects related to the production, realization and communication of artistic practice, under an interdisciplinary perspective.
In addition to the classwork, students participate in a wide range of laboratory projects in which they engage directly with external partner artists and professionals of international standing: from the design of a format for an exhibition space to the production of an art magazine, from the planning of a travelling exhibition to the realization of a performance in a public space, every year they have the opportunity of experimenting different schemes for artwork production.
A series of interdisciplinary lectures and seminars, organized in collaboration with other NABA programs, provides students the opportunity of dealing with a wide range of artists and professionals in the field of Contemporary Art.

NABA's education integrates the traditional disciplines of visual representation, the contemporary digital practices as well as the critical project culture of Italian design. NABA's training philosophy is based on the project-applied Art, synthesis of creative sensitivity, critical-methodological knowledge and technical-manual know-how. NABA's programs are characterised by an interdisciplinary methodology aimed at the development of artistic-professional skills and profiles. This approach is the result of a constant experimentation, of a strong vocation to research and to the relation with the artistic and productive context as well as of an attention paid to the ethic dimension of training.
