    NABA is an international institution, which integrates students of over 40 different nationalities in its educational programs and promotes intensive educational exchanges with Art and Design universities in Europe, USA, Latin America and Asia.

    NABA is legally recognised by the Italian Ministry of University and Research (MIUR) and issues BA and MA degrees in the areas of Painting and Visual Arts (Photography and Videoart), Design (Industrial, Interior), Fashion Design, Graphic Design and Art Direction, Media Design and Multimedia Arts, Theatre Design.

    NABA offers a wide choice of Summer Courses: Introduction, Intermediate (Studio Level) and Advanced Level courses. The Summer Programs propose a wide and updated synthesis of NABA know-how, giving a view of the most significant trends of the market, of industrial creation processes, of artistic and social expression, of Interior and Product Design, Fashion Design, Styling, Accessories, Textiles and Fibres, Fashion Marketing and Merchandising, Graphics, Photography, Communication and Theatre Lighting Design, Costume Decoration and Jewellery Design, together with the opportunity to experiment a topical project theme, under the guidance of renowned professionals and in cooperation with big companies and studios.

    NABA is proud to announce that its collaboration with Central Saint Martins London, The University of the Arts is continuing for the 4th consecutive year; improving past programs and offering new ones. At the same time we are very happy to announce that brand new courses in collaboration with Parsons Paris; Accademia Teatro alla Scala; Forma - International Center of Photography; AMD - Akademie Mode & Design, have been activated for the 2009 Summer Session.

    The Summer Programs propose a wide and updated synthesis of NABA know-how, giving a view of the most significant trends of the market, of industrial creation processes, of artistic and social expression, of Interior and Product Design, Fashion Design, Styling, Accessories, Textiles, Communication and Marketing, as well as Graphic Design, Visual Arts, Theatre Design and Media Design, together with the opportunity to experiment with a topical project theme, under the guidance of renowned professionals that will help students to delve into a design environment simulating a professional studio, gaining profound insight into the technical components of the design process.

    The Summer Programs Educational Offer is wide-ranging and diversified: it includes introduction level courses intended for students without any academic background in a specific subject area and offering a unique opportunity to explore a new creative environment; workshops (project research) that are particularly suitable for students with some background in that specific subject area who are keen on building upon this through hands-on training experience; advanced level courses that are intensive skills enhancement programs addressed to final year students or those with some initial working experience in the sector willing to explore new opportunities combining strategy and creativity.

    Students will learn from experienced and skilled professionals and will be taught how to research and present a creative idea.

    Selected visits to museums, companies, production sites and design studios during the programs expose students to the creative and cultural environment in Italy.

    NABA Summer School has been designed in a way that will enable students to combine their courses in a 4-week or 6-week session thus making the most of their time in Milan and fully experimenting NABA teaching approach and values.

    NABA take part in Milano Summer School, a joint initiative of the Milan City Government and the most prestigious Milanese universities.

  • Qualifications

    Programs are taught in English and offered at three levels:

    * Introduction Level Courses are intended for students without academic background on a specific subject area and offer a unique opportunity to explore a new creative environment. Students will learn from experienced and skilled professionals and will be taught how to research and present a creative idea. These courses will concentrate on experimentation within the creative design process.

    * Advanced Level Courses are intended for students attending their last years of University in the specific subject areas dealt with in the summer courses and for professionals in those specific fields who want to make a hands-on training experience in Italy.
