  • Description

Most film schools, art schools, acting schools etc. focus on technique, equipment and competition. They train people to enter highly competitive work environments which limit personal creativity and self expression with little emphasis on what is so noticeably lacking in the world today good story telling that emerges from within the depths of the artists soul.

At the New Renaissance Florence School rather then focusing on our students breaking into an already saturated industry to follow the visions of a select few, we help our students break out to become pioneers of their own creative talents and leaders who are on the cutting edge of evolving our modern story telling mediums. In our highly personal and advanced learning environment students learn to effectively communicate their highest message through the art of creative storytelling which springs from their inner journey of self discovery and deep personal growth.

Our programs are perfect for those who want to be the leaders in the new communicative mediums of the future. The art of imagery and story telling is now the new foundation for future jobs in education, marketing, internet, communication, entertainment and international business.

While students learn how to use the non-linear editing software, the emphasis is on the craft of editing which challenges students to create cogent sequences that best serve the story.

They will learn the pre production process, including casting, finding locations, and all other production elements that apply to the successful completion of their films. They will also examine the emerging markets and distribution possibilities of their projects.

    Two Week Production Laboratory:
Each semester has a specific theme to allow students to better explore and experiment within a limited structure. We find having a specific focus to each semester aids students in their creative process. The final semester each student is given complete freedom to create what ever film short they want.
