One big hospital for children in Mongolia is the State Research Center of Maternal and Child Health. Age of Mongolia's population is below age 17. Nowadays in Mongolia many families are unable to care for so many kids resulting in many of the kids ending up on the streets. A high number of children under 10 years old die unnecessarily every year, many in their first year of life due to poor living conditions and health care. Mentally Disabled children are being taken care of in the Mentally Disabled Children's Department of the State Research Center of Maternal and Child Health.
We are giving an opportunity for the volunteer to work with disabled children who needs attention and help from others. You will work with them from morning to early evening, giving them a chance to learn life skills from an international volunteer, as well as organizing activities nurturing them and playing and having fun with them. Also you will work with assistant doctors and nurses to help them learn Basic English.
Named as a Country of Blue Sky, you will be able to explore beauty of the country while you are teaching, working and traveling in Mongolia, birthplace of Chinggis Khan, and many more.
Volunteers interested in Work in children's hospital programs must currently be a doctor, nurse, medical student, or hospital employee and must demonstrate an appropriate level of training and experience in the medical field. All applicants should have: a desire to help the people of Mongolia, flexibility, self-motivation, openness to a new culture and a willingness to learn.

- Orientation:
Two days language and culture orientation included.
To better prepare volunteers and to make their experience more enjoyable, each volunteer placement of one month or longer begins with a two-day Mongolia language and culture orientation stage. Day one includes intensive language and cultural training in the capital city of Ulaanbaatar. Day two provides volunteers with hands-on cultural learning through a home stay in a rural ethnic minority community and participation in various cultural activities. This is a fun and effective way for volunteers to adjust to a new environment before volunteering begins.
- Housing:
Housing varies based on the placement location. During the volunteering stage of the placement, housing typically consists of a home stay with a local host family. This is a great opportunity for volunteers to learn experientially about Mongolia culture and family life. Volunteers can expect pleasant yet modest accommodations.
- Food: Food is provided as part of volunteer placements. Traditional Mongolian food is served to volunteers twice a day.

Our charity, New Choice, was founded in 2004 by Bayarjargal D, out of deep concern for the welfare of orphans and other vulnerable children in Mongolia. Since then we have become a strong and active body of people bound together by the same concern. We are a registered non-governmental and non-profit organisation, based in the capital Ulaanbaatar. Our mission statement 'To improve the conditions of, and advance in life, impoverished and orphanaged children by 1. promoting and protecting their physical and mental well-being, and 2. furthering their education through the provision of facilities and services, with a vision or their becoming active and valued members of society'. From the outset we have been motivated by a strong wish to empower the less fortunate children of Mongolia. We believe every child has the right to good health and education, and we feel it is our responsibility to provide these. A child's potential for self-development will then naturally increase, creating a mature and responsible individual.
