Description

Mongolia is one of the last unspoilt destinations in Asia. It is a country of mountains, stunning lakes, vast deserts, rolling grasslands, dense forests and unique wildlife, set in an area three times the size of France.

We run school expedition every year providing quality experiential learning in remote Mongolian environments. Students lead the expedition themselves, with the guidance of fully qualified leaders.
We offer a wide range of activities and experiences that combine physical, intellectual, social and environmental challenges. They can include trekking, biodiversity research, community work, and adventure & cultural activities.

It is up to you how much of each you want to include, and you plan your own itinerary using the guidance and expertise of the New Choice Mongolian Volunteer Organization staff and Expedition Leaders.

Then teams could set off in a truck across this incredible country taking in the grassy plains and even the Gobi Desert. Trekking takes place in any of the mountainous regions such as those around Tserseleg or the mountains up near Lake Khovsgul and you would walk with local guides and horses.

Students are spent taking in the many fantastic sights and monasteries there, or horse-trekking and staying with local families in their Gers.

"New Choice" Mongolian Children's Charity's Mission Statement

Our charity, New Choice, was founded in 2004 by Bayarjargal D, out of deep concern for the welfare of orphans and other vulnerable children in Mongolia. Since then we have become a strong and active body of people bound together by the same concern. We are a registered non-governmental and non-profit organisation, based in the capital Ulaanbaatar. Our mission statement 'To improve the conditions of, and advance in life, impoverished and orphanaged children by 1. promoting and protecting their physical and mental well-being, and 2. furthering their education through the provision of facilities and services, with a vision or their becoming active and valued members of society'. From the outset we have been motivated by a strong wish to empower the less fortunate children of Mongolia. We believe every child has the right to good health and education, and we feel it is our responsibility to provide these. A child's potential for self-development will then naturally increase, creating a mature and responsible individual.
