Description

International students will be hosted in a Spanish host family and will attend regular classes in a local public High school in Barcelona .We also offer programs in Cadiz, Huelva (South of Spain), Asturias, Leon (North of Spain), Murcia (South East of Spain), Madrid.

Caution: In Barcelona, the language normally used in educational system is Catalan. Some subjects are held in Spanish, but 95% of classes are held in Catalan.

Requirements:
- Students must be interviewed in their home country before being accepted.
- A minimum of 2 years of Spanish study and good academic results are required. A Spanish course may be organized before school starts. Students who are too weak in Spanish can participate in a 3 week intensive tutorial program, that takes place prior to the general arrival date.

- First semester: September to December
- Second school semester: January to June
- Academic year: September to June

Typical Day at the Spanish High School in Barcelona
Schools start usually at 8.00 in the morning and last until 14.45 (with a 30 minutes break at 11.00): there are no classes in the afternoon.

There are no classes on afternoons; some schools offer optional workshops /extracurricular activities on afternoons, which may be at an extra cost. Popular sports are football, basketball and nautical sports in some schools. School starts in September and finishes in June.

It is not divided into semesters or terms. There are two weeks of Christmas break and a two week break at Easter.
