  • Description

    Volunteer abroad in Sierra Leone.

    The community development program we want to engage on for this summer is that, since our organization is young, we are developing a community needs assessment - simple questioners/documentary which we will administer to slums communities, community non formal schools to know the real situation of children and their parents, children like orphans, street kids, single parent children and other vulnerable children. By so doing, we will able to know exactly the needs of these children and their parents, thus enabling us to ask for support from donors/well-wishers both national and International.

    Volunteer abroad in Sierra Leone and help us with this endeavor.

  • Highlights

    Volunteers will help us in administering community needs assessment simple questioners, documentry on the issues affecting vulnerable children, children such as orphaned, street kids, etc.

    We will also visit poor urban rural communities/slums and nonformal primary and Junior schools in peri-urban communities.

  • Qualifications

    We need students, practitioners and professional photographers, social worker, grant writer/fund-raiser etc.

    Due to the number of potential interested volunteers who are contacting us, we have decided to help them with free accommodation for the volunteering service they are render to our organization.

    So we held a meeting as to how we can help potential volunteers, thereafter we came up with a conclusion of providing free accommodation for volunteers by staying with a member of the organization or family member through out the placement period.

    There is no stipend benefit, but volunteers will benefit from experience he/she gained by working with young people, understanding cultural languages and barriers and visiting historical event/locations. There is also an opportunity for partnership/networking, making new friends and visiting natural beaches. Also volunteers will increase their CV profile which will help them in future job seeking.
