Since 1984 the Mountbatten Institute has offered full-time, paid international work placements and postgraduate business education to university graduates from around the world. Every March and August 200 like-minded young professionals travel to London to live, work, and study through the Mountbatten Institute.

The Work Placement

Hands-on practical training in a real-life work setting is a central feature of the Mountbatten experience. Participants spend 12 months working for a leading global company where they gain insight into the inner workings of a professional environment, learn to adapt to new situations, develop key transferable skills and competencies, all while fast-tracking their career.

Complementing the work placement, participants pursue either a Postgraduate Certificate or MBA in International Business Practice, awarded by our academic sponsor, St Mary's University College, Twickenham, London. Linking workplace practice with academic study, students develop a variety of analytical business skills. Both the Postgraduate Certificate and MBA teach the latest theory in areas ranging from management and organizational behavior to international accounting and global marketing. In addition to the knowledge base developed in London, the MBA provides an immersion experience in Asia, through a full-time fieldwork experience in Bangkok, Thailand. The MBA includes the submission of a written thesis, which is defended in front of an academic panel prior to graduation.

Salary/Pay

Monthly London living allowance of GBP 615 (British Pounds Sterling), plus furnished accommodation provided at no additional cost. Housing is also provided in Bangkok.
