Founded in 1955 and formerly known as the Monterey Institute of International Studies, the Middlebury Institute of International Studies at Monterrey (MIIS) is a graduate school located in Monterey, California. Producing the most Fulbright Fellows per capita in the United States (2011), MIIS is committed to academic expertise and international exchange. With a strong emphasis on leadership, innovation, multilingual environments, and cross-cultural studies, students place lessons within a global context and are encouraged to further their education abroad. MISS is comprised of two graduate schools and five research centers, all of them focusing on creating sustainable solutions to problems that affect the entire planet. Business, policy, and language blend together to create world leaders capable of tackling current challenges with broad-minded approaches.
