National Art Gallery, Maldives has been planning a series of artist residencies between Maldivian and international artists. The aim and objective of these residencies are firstly, to support Maldivian and International artists through the facilitation of an environment conducive to creativity, and secondly to facilitate the exposure of Maldivian culture, environment and geography through the work of artists to specific target audiences including art and culture enthusiasts, academics, art collectors, museums and galleries as well as tourists and potential travelers to the country.

The aim is also to align the promotion of Maldivian artists and visual culture, through:

* Work produced in, and work that depicts different aspects of Maldivian culture and traditions, geography and environment, etc.
* Work produced by Maldivian artists, etc.

Please contact us if you are an artist of any discipline who would like to apply for a residency here in the Maldives. Volunteer Maldives will work with your application together with the Arts Council and tourism outlets, who will act as sponsors in order to secure your placement.
