Description

The National Library of Maldives has become the landmark for students, researchers and general users as the main center for consultation whenever the need arise for additional knowledge and information.

There are two wonderful new sites in the capital of Male - one is the main library and there is a lovely Children's library also. As an on-going process, we'd love to hear from volunteers who can assist in a variety of initiatives that are going to be undertaken by the National Library in the coming year. We would certainly love to hear from qualified librarians, to train the existing staff , volunteers to help teach English to the staff, and also, for the Children's library, there is a shortage of people to take craft and activity classes - so anyone with a passion for reading, to tell stories and make up creative games and ideas for the little ones to develop their love of literacy in all forms, we'd love to hear from you!
